Clean your visor, jackass!

I got Halo to work on my computer again. And it's not lagging. Actually, none of my programs are lagging like they were.

Just when I thought that I'd have some free time.

"Listen up! Usually the Good Lord works in mysterious ways, but not today! This here is 66 tons of straight up, HE-spewing dee-vine intervention. If God is love, then you can call me Cupid!" - Sgt. Johnson, Halo 2

And now, I'm off to a) stop at the bank, b) find a parking space in a mall on black friday and c) try and remain alive during the shopping rush.
Let's see if I survive.

And, Happy Birthday to Blackwell, one of the Geek Squad members from Camp.

Session IB

Check-In today went extremely smoothly, which surprised the hell out of me and the rest of the Village Directors. This morning was pure chaos as we made a ton of changes to our lists. I ended up moving a couple of campers between cabins, only to find that we had a conflict, then had a last minute addition, then more switches, arg, it was frustrating. At least the day went better. I've been taking a ton of pictures, although I just haven't had the time to upload them into facebook yet.
Blackwell's returned to camp, and I've finally started doing a bit of GMing for various people - something that I wanted to get around to doing four weeks ago. Blackwell's campaign has started off really well. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Geeking Out

I've spent the couple days up in Burlington to save money on gas. Many geek things have been going on. First, I saw the season finale for LOST, which was intriguing, fantastic, and still didn't answer enough questions, but still really good.
Second, I met up with my friend Blackwell, one of the members of camp's Geek Squad. He gave me the entire series of Dr. Who, the new incarnation, high quality and commercial free - AMAZING show. British humour mixed with science fiction - absolutely thrilling and original. As the good doctor says - Fantastic! I also got the entire Season 2 of Battlestar Galactica, which I'm really looking forwards to seeing.
While I was with Beep, (Blackwell's nickname), we went to Borders - ran into Sam, our other member of the Geek Squad, whom we thought wasn't in the state. While we were talking with him, Billy, another member of Camp came in, and we wandered around. We ended up running into three more members of Camp - a regular reunion on Church Street. Fun times.
Lastly, I found that I'll probably be able to attend Celebration 4, next year, because they bumped the date back to late May. Previously, I'd thought that it'd be right before or during exams of my senior year, something that I couldn't miss. wOOt!

Reunions & Friends

A couple of days ago, I was messaged by a couple of friends for camp - While most of the staff members in the Burlington area were in town for their school breaks, they decided to get together and have a sort of Abnaki thanksgiving celebration. I headed up and met up with Rachel, who invited me over for a while, and we decided to go out and stay for a while, after we walked down to Church street to get some air. We've both been having our own various headaches, and it was good to talk about them with a sympathetic ear. We walked around church street for a while, ran into my friend Blackwell, which was a big surprise, and he was even more surprised to see me, and I think caught off guard, because he was with a girl - I think the one that he was almost arrested over (Long story) - and we didn't chat long. We also ran into my friend Lucy, who's apparently gotten a new job on Church street. From there, we sought out Billy and Jesse's apartment.I was extremely surprised to see that they had cooked an entire two turkeys and everything else with a turkey dinner - stuffing, mashed potatos, cranberry sause. A lot of people were there too - Billy, Tidd, Mike Wells, Pat, Alex, Lindsay, Dan Schwartz, Sam Hagen, Shane, Kevin, and a couple other random people. I think Rachel felt a little out of place, but it was like none of us had been parted for more than a couple of days - lots of reminising about events at camp, some video games, talking, drinking, eating, smoking and everything else that college guys do when they're on their own. It was good to see a lot of friends again. I ended up leaving early, and walked back to Rachel's apartment to get my car (She left early). Went back up and we talked for something like two hours before we realized what time it was and I left for home, getting back at around eleven. Fun evening. Kyle left this morning, back at school, and I'll be back at class tomorrow. Where did the time go? I still have two reports to finish up. Gah. Started working out my budget for London, watched the first episodes of Season 4 of Farscape, typed up a couple random things and going to do some reading later. Anyone ever listen to the 1812 Overture? Fun piece of music. I got a file of it earlier this year, and while watching Farscape, I found it highly amusing that the main character, John Crichton, was singing it to himself and got a small robot to hum the tune. Very catchy - especially when you're going insane.

Post-Camp Recuperation

I always hate the transition to real-life after camp. My sleep schedule is still out of whack, as is my food intake and daily schedule. It's tough trying to find ways to occupy my time. At camp, there are over a hundred people in fairly close proximety, where I'm able to talk with someone about something. Not so much here. However, I've been doing okay to be occupied. I took a good walk in the woods the other day, got some thinking cleared in my head and was treated to a beautiful view of the forest and a rain storm. It was refreashing. Went out with Blackwell, Sam and Eric last night to Pizza Putt, a pizza joint with miniature golf and lazer tag in the building. Together, Sam, Blackwell and I are known as the Geek Squad on camp. Eric is our off site member, and we all got together before we all go off to college for the year. Blackwell's leaving today and I'm off next week, as is Sam. Eric's going to work as a working stiff. (Sucker:-p ) . We ended up playing against another team of four guys who were there. We really screwed up the first time that we played, but did slightly better the second time around. I rode home with Eric, and we did some catching up on everything that happened over the summer.
I'm now working on an essay for Lexia, a study abroad option that my school is offering. I'm seriously thinking of studying in London, England for the Spring semester, if my finances allow for it. Let's hope...
